In the summer of 2018 I was having an extremely difficult time getting myself to paint. Not because of depression or recent events, just general ennui. No idea seemed like a good one; nothing worthy of the time to create it. Eventually I just decided that if every idea was stupid, then I may as well just create some stupid art.

I had been on a little bit of a vehicle kick. I painted the A-Team van, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) van, and a couple others. So after deciding the Back to the Future Delorean was too difficult and the Knight Rider car "Kit" was too bare, I painted the Generation 1 version of the Optimus Prime toy from the Transformers TV show.

Someone liked it so much that he commissioned me to make a second Transformers painting- this time of Daniel and Hot Rod (Rodimus Prime) from the animated Transformers movie.

They are watercolor and crayon on watercolor paper.
