Food

Tomatoes
  • Pineapple Tomatillo
    • Grows wonderfully in Zone 4. This tends to bush out to twice the width but half the height of a traditional tomato plant. If you put it in a tomato cage you can train it to grow upwards, which will make it look very similar to a tomato plant.
    • Grows in paper husks, and drops off the plant when near ripe. Collect off of the ground, then remove the wrapper and consume when the husk is dry.
    • Delicious! About the size of a hazelnut, they taste like sweet pineapple, especially when baked. You can make pineapple pizza without pineapples, which might be a great thing for someone allergic to pineapple! Also great for those who can't grow their own pineapple.
  • Pineapple Tomato
    • Growing this season, we'll find out...

    • Collect the blossoms to make tea, syrup, jams and candied flowers.
