Inspiration and Alternative Art Supplies

This is the first painting I did in like 6 years. My darling cat Squee was my muse.

I lacked confidence so I started painting on cardboard. That way I wasn't "wasting" art supplies. I did this in only 20 minutes(!)- I give credit to the subject.

Cardboard has become a favorite of mine to do test paintings on, and to just use when I don't have anything else. You need to either put a layer of prep paint on it, or use minimally wet paint. Otherwise it will wrinkle (unless you are looking for that effect- in which case, carry on). If you have carboard that is waxed (such as cereal boxes) then you dont't have to worry about wrinkle.
