Listening further, I found that there were two key mistakes:
- People didn't know what "sterilize" meant. When I would say to use a sterilized container, people thought that it meant whatever container that was in their cupboard would work. After all, they had not used it since the last time they washed it! So if I ever return to food blogging, I'd have to make sub-pages explaining every step in detail. For the record, a sterilized container is most often boiled immediately before using it for food. Yes, even if it was "clean" prior.
- If you don't have enough ingredients, you can't just substitute other ingredients and assume it will turn out the same. Especially when the recipe calls for flowers and you substitute it with leaves. In the future, I might point out that if you do not have enough of an ingredient you either need to subsitute an appropriate ingredient or you need to downsize the rest of the ingredients instead.
