You need multiple tactics to get past brain blocks. In the summer of 2018 I would just sit, wanting to create, but I had no interest in anything that occurred to me. It was as if anything *I* thought of was automatically wrong so the idea could not come from me.
I resorted to posting to an online toy group and asked them for ideas. They were a great help and started posting pictures of toys, ideas, and other encouragement. I just started painting on tiny (3" x 3"?) pieces of paper. I set five minutes per drawing as a goal (but some took longer and that is ok) and jsut went to town on them. I didn't want to think at all, because if I did my brain would stop me.
This Godzilla is one of my favorites. It was only a few minutes and is very rough but, somehow I love it. Maybe mostly because it wasn't my idea. :(
